I did these in guache on watercolour paper. (click any image for a larger version).
The drawings were meant as an exercise for studying tone more than anything else. I've always felt I had a serious lack of understanding of tone and the prospect of drawing with a brush has always been daunting. Being thrown in the deep end last night actually proved quite thrilling and I've sort of fallen in love with the process I used to draw these.
